Are you interested in World War II history? At this CVU Access one night program on November 13 at 6:00 PM you can enjoy an evening with story teller and former teacher, Jane Vossler, as she walks you through the historical moments of the siege of Leningrad, one of the deadliest blockades of a city in human history. The almost 900 day Nazi siege from September, 1941 to January, 1944 led to three quarters of a million civilians starving to death. Although other modern sieges such as Sarajevo and Madrid lasted longer, none killed even 1/10 as many. Learn about the background of the siege, what the regime did once the city was surrounded, the endurance, selflessness and courage of individuals, how the rationing system worked, how the valuable art in the Hermitage was saved, and what people had to do to survive.
This class will meet inside CVU high school in Hinesburg. Go to https://cvsdvt.ce.eleyo.com/ to register. There's a $20 fee.
