The purpose of the Study is to investigate potential street reconfigurations along Lafountain Street and Dion Street, spanning from Main Street to East Allen Street, based on public feedback. The first public meeting was held back in May and aided the Study Team in gathering public input on local concerns, transportation needs, and ideas to develop alternative solutions to enhance the corridor. The public is encouraged to build upon their contributions at the first public meeting and help refine the draft alternatives.
Since May, the Study Team, in partnership with the Municipal Infrastructure Commission, has revised and finalized the Purpose and Need of the study and has developed and refined several alternatives that meet the Purpose and Need based on the input provided by the public and the direction of the Municipal Infrastructure Commission. The Study Team will present the draft alternatives to the public during this meeting with the goal of gathering public input on the draft alternatives to help inform the Study Team's decision in recommending a preferred alternative for further refinement.
The Draft Alternatives Presentation will include a short presentation that reviews the Purpose and Need of the study and outlines each alternative followed by a community discussion. The presentation will include an overview of each alternative and a comparison of key criteria including meeting the Purpose and Need, comparative costs, safety and mobility improvements, and anticipated impacts and permitting requirements. We invite you to share your concerns, opinions, and ideas to develop a preferred alternative that meets the community's need for the corridor.
In accordance with provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, the CCRPC will ensure public meetings are accessible to all people. Requests for free interpretive or translation services, assistive devices, or other requested reasonable accommodations, should be made to Emma Vaughn, CCRPC Title VI Coordinator, at 802 846 4490 ext. 121 or evaughn@ccrpcvt.org, at least 3 business days prior to the meeting for which services are requested.
Can't make it to the meeting, but still want to contribute? Do you have a question or would like to join the project email list? We want to hear from you!
