Join Vermont River Conservancy for a webinar series on the first three Wednesdays in November! Each will take place on Zoom from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Read the below descriptions for what will be presented at each.
November 1: Home. Discuss river processes and learn about actions you can take for your lawn, garden, and home to absorb rainwater and help mitigate floods.
November 8: Community. Learn about efforts across the country and in Vermont to make communities more resilient to flooding, and dream up new ideas for your hometown.
November 15: State. Hear about state efforts to study river health, restoration, and flood prevention. We will also see how statewide organizations are working to protect rivers.
Since the flooding Vermont faced in July, there have been questions about what can be done to make our state more resilient. This webinar will provide solutions and brainstorm ideas relating to the protection and restoration of river corridors and floodplains. There will be multiple panelists in each session who will answer questions and provide adaptation strategies, ways to get involved in your community, and how to use resources provided by the state to learn about rivers and floodplains.
