Martin Bridge Flood Repair Workday

Past event
Nov 4, 2023, 1 to 5 PM

We had a very productive workday on 10/15, thanks to 11 volunteers. Also eleven Twinfield students collected some of the debris deposited near the bridge from upstream on 10/20. Thank you all.

We need to have another workday to continue the clean up. The workday will be 11/4, 1 to 5 PM with a rain date of 11/5, 1 to 5 PM. Some of the items we need to accomplish:

Using hoes and shovels, refill the ruts left in the floodplain from tractor tires (both sides)
Finish removing trees and wood debris on the bank upstream of the bridge.
Finish removing woody debris left stuck in trees
Weed Whip around the the entrances to the bridge
Replace entry sign cross piece
Trim trees at parking lot
Cut down two trees
Potentially reinstall split rail fence
Potentially install posts limiting access to the bridge.
Potentially remove and stack some silt from the lawn areas in front of and across the bridge.
We will need loppers, limb saws, pointed shovels, garden rakes, square shovels,

Martin Bridge Manager
