Series

In the second presentation of the Varnum Author! Author! series, local writer Lisa Kent will be at the Library Thursday September 11. Lisa's first book: Peace Cottage came out in April this year and fans of romantic contemporary literature have made it a hit. Kent's characters are well developed and the book has resonated with readers everywhere.

The story follows Lucy Cook a woman struggling to come to terms with her husband's sudden death. Lucy and her two children leave Vermont and head to the Maine coast to start a new life. Her teenage children grow up and she realizes the strengths within that make it possible to carve a new independent life. This novel of loss, love and hope, re-defines what it means to build a life and a home.

Author and librarian Lisa Monique Kent lives with her family and pets in rural Vermont. We know the public will enjoy meeting her and hearing about Peace Cottage.
