Have you ever woken up after finding yourself in a fantastical place with amazing people? Well that is NOT what happens to George! He finds himself onstage with knowing his lines, and the people he runs into are as zany as they are unfamiliar. And the life long question of whether you wake up if your nightmare has other plans for you can finally be answered!
The White River Valley Players present their Fall production, Dreams and Nightmares, a show featuring both music and theater. The show will be held on Friday, Oct. 27, at 7pm, and a there will be a Saturday matinee on Oct. 28 at 2pm at the Rochester School Auditorium.
The event will start with Songs of Dreams and Dreamers, an eclectic mix of dream-themed songs performed by well-known valley musicians including The Three Sues (Sue Clarke, Sue Ribaudo, and Susan Rule), Heather Masterton, Todd Eberhardt, Dorothy and Dick Robson, Vic Ribaudo, Greg Ryan, Judy and Tony Seeger, and Larry Plesent. This portion of the production will be directed by Sue Ribaudo who states, "The performers will be supported by a lively chorus and band, and it all will put you in a dreamy mood".
The second act follows with a zany one-act play, The Actor's Nightmare, written by Christopher Durang and directed by Mian O'Dowd. For the cast George Spelvin will be played by Don Crickard, Sarah Siddons will be played by Peg Purdue, Ellen Terry will be played by Debbie Glogover, Eleanora Duse will be played by Christine Meagher. Michael Purdue will play both Henry Irving and the Executioner, and Pam Sterling will play Meg, the Stage Manager.
There will also be treats available for purchase from Sandy's Bakery. Tickets are available at the door by cash or check. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.
