Come join the Berlin Conservation Commission for our first Invasive Plant Day on Irish Hill on November 8. You'll learn to identify invasive plants that are easily found this time of year, and methods used to control them, while you are helping to free our public lands from these intruders.
We'll have a professional licensed forester directing each team and explaining hows and whys of non-native plant control. No prior experience is needed! Just a fun time to be in the woods during stick season, getting to know others while spending time cutting and painting. We'll use the "cut-stump" and mechanical methods to remove invasive plants. Gloves and equipment will be provided. We will work to remove several infestations, particularly buckthorn and honeysuckle, near Darling Trail.
