Join the Royalton Community Garden and the VT Garden Network this Saturday from 11am-1pm for a Fall Clean-Up and Garlic Planting Party! There will be prepared foods to eat, fresh garden veggies and free organic seeds to take home, as well as mini workshops on 1) how to plant garlic for the Spring , 2) compost and 3) nutrition.
The Royalton Community Garden is a grassroots, volunteer-run collective gardening initiative that helps feed our community through weekly Open Garden Sessions and deliveries to the South Royalton Food Shelf. Now, it's time to put the garden to bed for winter, and we need your help!
Come help us turn the compost piles, plant garlic, and other end-of-season tasks. The VT Garden Network will join us for a short talk on nutrition and with free seeds to give away to help get your own garden started in the spring. Participants will get to enjoy prepared dishes using fresh garden ingredients, and leave with fresh veggies straight from the garden!
Please come dressed in appropriate work clothes and with garden gloves if you have them! All other tools will be provided.
