Did you know that October 24-31st is "Bat Week?" Bat Week is an international, annual celebration to raise awareness about the need for bat conservation. Bats are amazing creatures that are vital to the health of our natural world and economy. Although we may not always see them, bats are hard at work each night - eating tons of insects, pollinating flowers, and spreading seeds that grow new plants and trees.
Celebrate the wonder of bats with Lake Paran tomorrow at our Annual Full(ish) Moon Bat Chat and Bonfire.
From 6-7pm, local biologist, Kerry Monahan, will discuss all things bats under the moon. Detect bats with an ultrasonic bat detector or see a bat house close up! After the bat chat, gather around the fire with s'mores and good company. Family friendly!
Suggested donation of $5 per family and refreshments.
Please park in the upper parking lot, bring your own chair!.
