Join Martha Laing and Douglas Barnes at 1:30 on Thursday, October 26 at the Richmond Free Library for a travelogue of their two-week trip to Egypt and Jordan in 2019. From sailing along the Nile for five days, to riding camels, and going underground to see perfectly preserved tombs of ancient pharaohs, this experience is history brought to life. Photographs depict Egypt from Cairo in the north to Aswan in the south – with pyramids, temples, and villages along the way. Jordan's highlight is the rose city of Petra, named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. But stops at the Dead Sea, Roman city of Jerash, desert of Wadi Rum, and capital Amman depict other interesting sides of Jordan. Sponsored by the Community Senior Center. All are welcome.
