Islands Crop Walk

Committee to have the first ever Islands Crop Walk
Purpose: To raise funds to help alleviate hunger and food insecurity in the Islands, in the United States, and in 30 + countries around the world.
Why? To enjoy walking or biking with others from the islands to help alleviate hunger locally, nationally, and in more than 30 other countries
How? Get sponsor form by calling The Congregational Church of South Hero office M-F 10-noon or 1-3. You can also leave a message and information and a form will be sent to you. Seek contributions from sponsors for you or your team. Join the walk or ride on the 26th by bringing your sponsor form and donations to the Congregational Church start point. CROP stands for CWS hunger prevention programs that are always conducted in conjunction with local communities.
Who will benefit? 25% of the funds raised will remain in the Islands to help Food for Thought and The Food Shelf. one in five children in the Islands and one in 8 in VT are food insecure. This is an opportunity for residents of the islands from all groups to act together to help in solving a major problem. The motto is WE WALK SO OTHERS CAN HAVE FOOD.
