My sister is the national director for these FREE events, which began in VT and MA - they are really special and for veterans and non-veterans, and are a bit like Moth storytelling, but only veterans speak.
At a Vets Town Hall, veterans are invited to speak for up to ten minutes each about what their service means to them. Non-veterans are encouraged to attend and listen. These events are free and nonpolitical, and all perspectives are valued. This November, there will be FIVE Vets Town Halls in Vermont, in Bradford, Brattleboro, Colchester, Rutland, and South Royalton!
I will be volunteering at the Colchester one, on Nov 5th at 1pm at the St. Mike's College McCarthy Arts Center. Come listen to stories, share, enjoy DELICIOUS snacks - love to see you there - please say hi! (And Bradford is the one physically closest to us, on Nov 12 at 1pm at Orange East Senior Center.)

With Veterans Day approaching, these events are a great way to LITERALLY show up for our friends, family members, neighbors, and colleagues who are veterans. Veterans who are interested in speaking can indicate that when registering, or get in touch at vermont@vetstownhall.org. Veterans are welcome to speak or simply attend, and (time permitting) can also sign up to speak at the event itself.
