Hello Neighbors,

I hope you can please join me at the 8th annual Laura’s March, a 5k to End Sexual Violence to be held on Saturday, September 13th in Burlington's Oakledge Park. I work at HOPE Works, one of the Laura's March beneficiaries this year. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to support survivors of sexual violence right here in our community.

To register and start fundraising, go here: http:// www.firstgiving.com/ lkwfund/lauras-march-2014.

We have selected three primary beneficiaries for Laura’s March 2014:
• H.O.P.E. Works will develop, expand, and enhance victim advocacy services for children and youth with an in-house mental health counselor.
• Pride Center of Vermont (formerly RU12? Community Center) will expand its outreach and education efforts to ensure safety and prevent sexual violence and will collaborate with the Threshold Collective, which uses storytelling, photography, and video to effect change, create leadership, and promote healthier communities.
• The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program (SANE) at Fletcher Allen Health Care will send at least 2 nurses to the annual Scientific Assembly to connect with peers and professionals to discuss new research and share information to improve care to patients.

Since 2005, The LKW Fund has donated over $100,000 to local organizations/programs. The LKW Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt foundation, founded after Laura was raped and murdered in Burlington on March 8, 2005, with the mission of ending sexual violence and helping survivors.

For information on the LKW Fund, please visit www.lkwfund.org or www.facebook.com/LKWFund, or contact us at lkwfund@yahoo.com.
