Kids ages 8 – 12 are invited to join local members of the Embroiderers Guild of America at the Richmond Free Library for the opportunity to use their very own hands to sew and assemble a Thankful Pocket; a pocket to hang on a doorknob and collect notes about the things that they are grateful for. Each participant will receive a kit with everything necessary to complete their own project, and members of the Guild will be on hand to demonstrate a variety of simple sewing stitches and techniques. Each Thankful Pocket will be a unique creation and will be a nice way to encourage the November tradition of thanksgiving. This opportunity is free but please sign up by contacting the library at 434-3036 or library@richmondvt.gov.
