for youth ages 7-18, 4-H members and non-members
(Youth 11 and under need to have a designated adult with them at the event)
We will practice basic hand sewing skills and techniques while working on a small textile craft project. Each class will focus on a project that youth can hopefully complete during the session. Youth can attend just one class session in the series, all sessions, or whichever sessions peak their interest or work with their schedule.
11/4: Scrunchie
Practice threading a needle and start basic straight-line stiches as we make some scrunchies for hair or wrist
11/18: Monster Bookmark
Keep practicing your stiches and scissor skills while we make colorful felt monster bookmarks
12/2: Snowman Ornament
We'll cut out pattern pieces and sew on buttons while constructing a snowman ornament
