Story Hour: How the Roads Got Their Name

Past event
Oct 24, 2023, 5:30 to 6:30 PM

There will be a discussion about the history of Jericho Road names in the Jericho Town Hall community room on Tuesday October 24th, 2023 at 5:30 PM. This meeting will be a hybrid format in-person as well as via zoom and is expected to last about an hour. This discussion will be similar in format to the history of Jericho schools and the history of baseball in Jericho discussions that took place in 2021. Some of the information is in the History of Jericho Volume III and some of the information is going to be presented by Paul Alexander. Paul grew up on Steeple Bush Hill and as a college student he interviewed his father Wayne about Jericho Road names. Wayne Alexander was on the initial road naming committee that was formed in the 1960's. We are grateful that MMCTV will be filming the event so that it can be archived. I am hoping to have a history site organized on the Jericho Town Website so that you can view these history discussions as well as the memory map projects that MMCTV has completed with students about specific roads including Browns Trace, Barber Farm Road and Raceway Road. If you know about Smoky the cat or have a funny or serious story to share about a Jericho Road name please plan to attend. Further info as well as a zoom link will be provided at a later date.
