The Peak Vermont Artist Series at Spruce Peak Performing Arts presents the Northern Third Piano Quartet in a high energy program of chamber music. The main work on the program is Johannes Brahms Hungarian-inspired masterpiece, the Piano Quartet in g minor, op. 25. Other works include the virtuosic and fiery Dohnányi Serenade for string trio, the charming Danzas Argentinas for piano by Alberto Ginastera and the Scree Dragon for viola and piano, a fantasy-inspired piece, by Vermont composer Lydia Lowery Busler.

Founded in 2013, the Northern Third Piano Quartet has performed to critical and audience acclaim in concerts all over Vermont, most notably as part of concert series at Norwich University, Barre Opera House and Brandon Summer Music. The ensemble has been noted for its strength of ensemble playing and emotive musicality, offering audiences a showcase of Vermont’s remarkable talent. Tickets are $20 in advance, or $25 at the door.
