Past event

Dear Neighbors,

The City Redistricting process created an eighth ward in Burlington that will take effect in the 2015 Town Meeting Day Election. To view the map of the of Ward 8 boundaries, please follow this link: http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/sites/default/files/CEDO/Neighborhood_Services/NPAs/Ward%208%20B[...]pdf

As in every other ward, Ward 8 will have a Neighborhood Planning Assembly (NPA), which is a grassroots, neighborhood organization recognized by the City to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. To learn more about NPAs, please visit: http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CEDO/Neighborhood-Services/Neighborhood-Planning-Assemblies

The inaugural Ward 8 NPA meeting will take place on September 10 from 6:30 to 8 pm in the Fletcher Room of the Fletcher Free Library. The agenda includes the election of a Ward 8 NPA Steering Committee, review of the proposed Ward 8 bylaws, and discussions about potential partnerships with Ward 1 and the potential location of a Ward 8 polling place. This will be a historic and important meeting you do not want to miss! To view more information about the initial steps and the interim steering committee members who led to this meeting being possible, please visit the Ward 8 NPA page: http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CEDO/Ward-8-NPA

We look forward to seeing you there.

All the best,

Kesha
