Friends and Neighbors,
Please join us for the Ward 1 Neighborhood Planning Assembly (NPA) next Wednesday, 10/11 at the Friends Meeting House, 173 North Prospect St.
We believe the Zoom bugs have been straightened out from last month, so we are planning to hold a hybrid meeting. But if you want to be absolutely sure you are part of the conversation, we urge you to attend in person. The Friends meeting house is warm, comfortable, and intimate, plus there's food!!!
After introductions and announcements, we will take a vote on a prospective new member of the Steering Committee and on a proposed resolution on District Heat that, if passed, will be presented to City Council. Look for the draft resolution in an upcoming FPF.
Sarah Morgan from the City Planning Office will come for a discussion of the Neighborhood Code, which will propose zoning changes to support more neighborhood-scale housing options citywide. This is an important subject for all residents, as it will influence the very nature of housing and neighborhoods in the future.
City Councilor Melo Grant will also come with a call to action around the City Council resolution declaring the Drug Crisis a Health and Public Safety emergency. Melo's participation at the NPA is quite timely, given our discussion last month about public health, public safety, and how residents can get involved.
And of course, there will be supper prepared by Sam Ayotte, and plenty of time for Speakout! We look forward to seeing you.
