Creatives of all ages are welcome to join the worldwide phenomenon that is 24 Hour Comics Day on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Center for Arts and Learning in Montpelier. The challenge, should you choose to accept it: create your own 24-page comic book in 24 hours. Drawing, lettering, coloring--all of it!
Bring your creativity, the tools you like to use (pens, paper, paints), snacks (we will provide coffee), and things to keep you comfortable (slippers, security blankets). This is a fun challenge to do with friends.
This event is free for ages 16+. While this challenge is for 24 hours, finishing early, leaving early or arriving after the starting time is perfectly okay. The point is to have fun.
The Center for Arts and Learning is a multi-disciplinary arts center. There may be music and other artists also working in the space. This challenge will take place in the T.W.Wood's new adult arts classroom (2E), in both CAL galleries. Monteverdi's music room 207 will be a quite area for rest and rejuvenation. The facility is staffed during the event and locked after hours (participants will be free to come and go).
Downtown Montpelier will be an excellent place to draw inspiration--we hope to see you here! To learn more and register: https://cal-vt.org/24hrcomics
