The Friends of the Library is hosting a book discussion on Thursday, October 17th at 6PM in the Community Room at Fletcher Memorial Library. This meeting we are discussing Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann.
This book is a true story highlighting the beginnings of the FBI. In the 1920s, members of the Osage Native American tribe of Osage County, Oklahoma, are murdered after oil is found on their land, and the FBI decides to investigate. As a fledgling organization, mistakes w2ere made during the investigation. "This book reads like a novel!" Killers of the Flower Moon, a film by Martin Scorsese staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Brendon Frasier, will release on October 20th.
