Pregnancy Infant and Child loss Awareness Day Wave of Light
Please join us as we gather together as a community on Sunday, October 15th, at 6:30pm to honor our children and babies that have gone before us. The Childhood Bereavement Coalition will be hosting a community lantern and candle lighting event at the Pleasant View Cemetery on Washington Hwy near Copley Hospital in Morrisville VT.
The Wave of Light is a global movement designed to honor families and loved ones who have experienced pregnancy, infant or child loss. The movement encourages loved ones to light a candle at 7pm, local time, and to let that candle burn for one hour with the idea that a wave of light will travel the earth, one time zone at a time, honoring our children that are gone too soon.
Candles, floating lanterns, and light refreshments will be provided. A short poem will be read prior to the 7pm release of lanterns. A moment of silence and reflection will be offered as we watch our lanterns drift up into the evening sky and candles will be available for attendees to take home.
Grief can be very isolating, heavy and lonely and we want you to know that you are not alone.
This event is open to everyone and all are welcome.
