A People's History of Plainfield! at the Plainfield Opera House
Followed by a Contra Dance!
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Old Home Day is traditionally a moment to celebrate community and our common past. It has been a time when people who grew up here and moved away returned to visit their friends and loved ones.
This year, to add to the festivities, The Plainfield Opera House will present The Old Home Day Revue; A People's History of Plainfield. We hope to bring the spirit of Old Home Day to the newly-reopened Town Hall Opera House (the scene of over 100 years of community theater, educational programs and celebrations) to acquaint people with their town's history and to have some fun.
Residents of Plainfield will present a variety of small acts, all sharing piece's of local history.
Featuring:
- Snippets of classic shows previously performed at the Opera House
- Historical town trivia
- A town SONG! written for this occasion by Ben Koenig
- A musical about the history of the cider press
