Lomilomi is the traditional massage style from Hawaii. It is holistic in nature, addressing body, mind and spirit. It is known for the rhythm and flow of its wave-like strokes and its focus on breath, which offer the receiver the space to relax into a trance-like state where deep healing can occur.
I will be teaching a 4-day Lomilomi intensive training Nov 6-9 at Topnotch Resort in Stowe. Tuition is $800 and is NCBTMB approved for 32 Continuing Ed Credits. If cost is an obstacle, the class is eligible for VSAC grants which can cover the full cost for qualifying Vermonters. People of all experience levels are welcome!
You will learn a full-body Lomilomi routine that I developed, combining elements from several lineages of Lomi. The routine uses long wave-like strokes with the hands and rhythmic forearm and elbow techniques as well as deep stretches, twists, and hip openers. There will also be a focus on grounding meditation and Lomi HA Breathwork to deepen the quality of the work. This combination increases circulation, blood flow, and lymph drainage, creates space in the joints, and helps the body let go of tension, pain, stuck energy, old traumas, and more, while enhancing mental and emotional wellbeing.
Lomilomi is powerful work, and it is an honor to have another opportunity to share it with the community in VT. There are currently 4 spaces still available.
