ALL ARE WELCOME
COME JOIN THE CELEBRATION
The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired will be celebrating White Cane Safety Day in St. Albans on October 10, 2023, with a short walk down Main Street. We will gather in front of St. Albans City Hall (100 N. Main Street) between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. and will begin the walk shortly after 10:30 a.m. Anyone interested in joining us on our walk to increase awareness for safety for those who are visually impaired and those using a white cane and especially those who are visually impaired and/or using a white cane are welcome.
White Cane Safety Day celebrates the achievements of blind or visually impaired people. In the U.S. it is a notional observance first celebrated in 1964 after the proclamation by President Lyndon B. Johnson and is observed around the world.
