"WORDS OUT LOUD: Poetry, Place & the Passage of Time" presents the second of three Sunday afternoon paired poetry readings for this fall!
Sunday, September 24
3:00 pm
Old West Church
Reception to follow down the road at the Kent amidst this year's "Traces" exhibit with light refreshments, books, and a chance to meet the presenters
Presenters will be poet Sarah Audsley, Writing Program Manager at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, and Nadine Budbill, who will be reading from the work of her father, the late David Budbill.
Please wear layers for comfort in the unheated 1823 meetinghouse & sturdy shoes for uneven terrain, and arrive a wee bit early for parking and seating ahead of the 3 O'Clock start time.
A bit about each presenter:
SARAH AUDSLEY is the author of Landlock X (Texas Review Press, 2023). A Korean American adoptee, a graduate of the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and a member of The Starlings Collective, Audsley lives and works in northern Vermont.
NADINE BUDBILL is the Literary Executor of the David Budbill Literary Estate. In addition to this role, she is a project management and fundraising expert with 20 years' experience in the nonprofit sector, having worked with myriad mission-driven organizations focused on gender and racial equity, social justice, and education. Beloved Vermont poet David Budbill (1940–2016) was the author of eight books of poems, seven plays, two novels, a collection of short stories, three children's books, and the libretto for an opera. After his death, Montpelier voters named David the "People's Poet of Vermont."
A bit of gratitude:
