Open Studio takes place on Saturday Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1 from 10am to 5pm, at participating studios throughout the state.Maps are available on-line and at participating studios through the Vermont Crafts Council, www.vermontcrafts.com.

This is an invitation to visit 2 local studios linked within in short driving distances near DANBY; E L Schmidt @Green Hill Studio in Danby and Nick Seidner /Rising Meadow Pottery in Middletown Springs

Erika Schmidt works across media to embrace contemporary printmaking and collage. Her studio walls will be brimming with art to spark your imagination, from colorful and quirky, to mysterious and contemplative, to curious and humorous. The work will range from large to small, framed and unframed and reflect span of time. Green Hill studio on Green Hill Rd. Come visit EL Schmidt for an out-of-the-ordinary kind of art experience. EL Schmidt Green Hill Studio is # 40

Nick Seidner of Rising Meadow Pottery has been making utilitarian stoneware pottery in Middletown Springs since 1997. During that period of time, Nick has worked thoughtfully to make Rising Meadow Pottery a micro production and teaching facility. Electric kilns and wheels are powered with solar energy, the wood kiln uses local scrap wood to fire to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit, and earthy glazes are developed using local stones from area quarries. Visitors during Open Studio Weekend will have the opportunity to see finished work from a September wood kiln firing. Nick Seidner Rising Meadow Pottery is #39
