Samn Stockwell to Read from Musical Figures

"From the moment I heard 'the screen door opening and closing,' I knew I had entered a recognizable world; a world I would experience through touch and sounds" from Samn Stockwell's newly released collection of poetry.

Jennifer Martelli, author of The Queen of Queens and My Tarantella, says "Musical Figures is a close examination of humanity." Stockwell traces a lineage that includes the institutionalization of poverty, of mental illness, alcoholism, and war, to name a few. While listening to her stories are not for the faint of heart, Stockwell embodies courage and optimism which evens the score.

Saturday, September 23rd at 10AM come to the Waterbury Public Library and listen to Poet and Author Samn Stockwell read from her riveting, captivating book which mirrors her life. Kicking off the morning, Mountain Troubadour Editor Mary Rose Dougherty will read from her manuscript in progress before introducing Samn, her colleague and friend.
Let the morning's poetry readings awaken your senses, your mind and your spirit. From 10-11:30 AM in the library's SAL Room. No need to register, just show up. You'll be glad you did!
