Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio: Are tiny cars the wave of the future, whether run on batteries or something else? And how are European honey bees and Vermont's hundreds of native pollinators getting on in late 2023?

New electric vehicles (EVs) keep coming on the market, giving car buyers more options than ever—and more information to wade through. Regular guest Dave Roberts of Drive Electric Vermont updates us on the latest in vehicles available, what's new with charging stations, incentives, and more. And we'll talk about ultra-small, ultra-efficient EVs that exist or are in production, like the ELF (an enclosed electric tricycle) and the Aptera (a very speedy, two-person, three-wheeled electric car).

Jason Mazurowski is leading a bioblitz search for pollinators this Saturday on Woodbury Mountain, just as bumblebee colonies are reaching their annual late-summer peak. Jason is trained as an ecologist specializing in native pollinator conservation and has surveyed native bee populations across Vermont while teaching courses on the topic. He lives on an off-grid homestead in the northern Green Mountains where he plans to cultivate native trees, shrubs, and perennials for conservation. We'll talk about the good news and bad news about pollinators in Vermont now, and what you can do now to give pollinators a better habitat around your yard this fall and next year.
