A Country Bookshop Half Price Sale. (Yes, we're doing it again!)

Several events are worth mentioning:

1) We've been in business since 1974. That makes 40 years. (Unbelievable).

2) Labor day: we believe that laborers should have a day of rest, and we'll be open in order to sell you some great reading material to lessen your stress. [And our sale prices will certainly reduce your economic stress.]

3) Plainfield celebrates Old Home Day on Saturday September 6th and the proprietor of The Country Bookshop will be singing his brand new composition, “The Plainfield, Vermont Song.” It celebrates the town as well as our way of life. (And it's fun to sing). There'll be a parade through town at 11AM; a barbecue at noon; other events on the rec field; a show of local talent in our renovated Opera House at 2PM – that's where you'll hear the song; followed by a contra dance.

4) Finally, our sale honors the many other Plainfield businesses who are now members of the recently formed Plainfield Area Business Alliance, a group of friendly folks helping to spread the word that buying in your local community helps to “enrich” all who live there.

Of course the main reason for this notice is that The Country Bookshop Half Price Sale is coming your way:

What: Almost all of our extensive inventory on sale at 50% Off.
When: Begins on Friday, August 29th (ends on Sunday, September 7th).
What time: Open every day from 10 until 5.
