Join us on Saturday, Sept 23, 10-2 pm for the annual Community Cider Pressing at Caledonia Grange #9 in East Hardwick (across from the church).
Bring apples, containers, and some muscle power for the apple grinder and cider press. There will be free apple fritters and hot dogs, and live music on the Grange porch!
And this year, we're trying something new: people who don't have their own apple trees can pick up a map giving the location of roadside wild apple trees in the East Hardwick-Greensboro area. Maps can be picked up at the Civic on Thursday, and the Hardwick Farmers Market on Friday.
Do you have a yard apple tree or two whose apples you won't be using this year? Let us know and we'll see that they're put to good use by someone without their own apple trees.
Interested in helping expand the map for next year? On Saturday at 11:00 at the Grange we'll be giving people a quick tutorial on how to help crowd-source the locations of even more trees.
