Hello astronomers!
It's that time of month and the skies look clear, so the Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation will be hosting what may be our final star party of the year at the Northern Skies Observatory in Peacham on Thursday, September 21!
The skies get dark early, and we'll have a not-quite half moon, so we will start observing at 7 PM! It won't be dark enough then to see stars, but we should get some nice views of the moon. As the night progresses, we should see Saturn, and when the moon sets (around 9:56 PM) we'll be able to see lots of deep sky objects, such as the Andromeda Galaxy!
It's getting chilly after the sun sets, so bring your sweaters. Park in the Peacham school lot and please leave your flashlights home - we'll have the path up to the observatory lit.
Check the NKAF Facebook page for any last minute weather cancellations!
See you then!
