Central Vermont OLLI Presents Linda Radtke
The fall series of the Central Vermont Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI) programs begins Wednesday, September 20, 1:30 pm, at the Montpelier Senior Activities Center. Singer/Historian Linda Radtke presents From Parlors to Polls: VT Suffragettes. In period garb, Radtke celebrates the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1919 and also traces the movement's alignment with other social justice initiatives. Through songs and stories, Radtke highlights Vermonters' efforts from 1840-1921, as they lobbied in churches, "parlor meetings," town halls and the State House for total enfranchisement.
The series will continue through December 6. All presentations start at 1:30. See descriptions of the complete program at the Central Vermont OLLI website, https://learn.uvm.edu/olli/centralvt.
You may register for all 11 weekly presentations―eight talks plus three films―for $40 ($70 for two) or for individual sessions at $8 apiece.
