Lamoille Valley Osher Lifelong Learning presentation:
Educator and musician Lois Price will share examples of beautiful music that emerged from some of the most horrendous conditions resulting from the Nazi realization that control of the arts was an important element in their overall scheme of domination. While the Nazi regime labeled the music it banned "forbidden music," many people incarcerated in ghettos and concentration camps found music to be a solace and a means of expressing not only their despair, sorrow, and fear, but also their endurance, resistance, and hope.
