This class will introduce you to a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) for PC called Mixcraft. Mixcraft is software that can be downloaded and installed free. The free software has a limitation of 14 days to write mp3 files, but stays active and otherwise capable indefinitely. The class will cover: the Mixcraft workspace, how to arrange music in a Digital Audio Workstation generally, assigning instruments to channels, sequencing notes in a track, importing recorded audio, using audio files as samples and applying effects to instruments. If you have musical experience and talent, but lack digital or electronic know-how, this class is a must. Even if you have no experience with music, you will still find this class interesting and useful. Writing music has been for me a great pastime, source of relaxation and an enjoyable creative outlet.
