The July 10th flood has certainly tested us all, and here at The Gardens has been no exception. In the wee hours of the night of July 10th, 18 of our residents were evacuated from foot-deep, rising water by emergency personnel. Their apartments and most of their belongings, along with an exercise room, a storage area, the chapel, the furnace, a workshop, the elevator and a garden room were all badly damaged. Flood remediation has been ongoing and challenging.

To assist the displaced residents and boost morale, we are planning a fundraising event. On October 7, 2023 from 9:30 to noon there will be a bake sale with raffle items and a silent auction. The event is open to the public and will feature homemade recipes. Many local businesses have donated practical and special items for the silent auction. 100% of the profits will go to the residents who were displaced. Please come by and feel free to bring your family and friends.
