Saturday, September 16 at 1:00pm at Dean Road in North Pownal.

The Bennington Museum and Pownal's Historical Society will commemorate the only Witch Trial (according to folk lore) that ever occurred in Vermont, with a permanent sign. As the story goes this event occurred in the late 1700's, when North Pownal resident the widow Kreiger, was accused of being a witch and so was dunked in the Hoosac River. Her survival proved she was not a witch.

All are encouraged to wear your best witch attire and join the witch's fun walk. Witches will gather at 12:45 pm and parade across the bridge towards area of the sign dedication. Witches garb will run the gamut from lovely to scarry. Refreshments, music provided.
