Guilford Cares has decided to cancel the Fort Dummer Senior Walk which was scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 10:30. We walked the trails earlier to discover large areas of mud and considerable tree damage. With more rain in the forcast, we believe the trail will be in even worse condition.

For those who would still like to walk, we plan to be at the Weeks Forest Trail, Carpenter Hill Road, same day and time.

That trail is in much better condition (thanks to diligent maintenance by the Guilford Conservation Commission) and is always a delight to stroll; an easy 0.8 mile round trip with benches along the way. Meet at the tailhead on Carpenter Hill Rd. across from the one-room schoolhouse (a short distance from the library), or you can park at the library and walk to the trailhead.
