Our friend passed away from his battle with cancer in 2017, but we try to remember him and his kindness each year by celebrating community here at our store with a big Lobsterfest !
In 2008 with the big economic collapse that happened my friend Darrell Mays ( Andys Brother ) told me that the lobstermen of Maine were struggling . I decided that that was a good time to drive to see Andy to get as many Lobsters as I could to try to support him, and that was the start of our relationship. The next several years we would look forward to the trip as it was a great chance to see the fall colors and have fun with this event.Then in 2011 the flood of Irene happened , Andy brought his hometown of Moretown a truck load of Lobsters to help celebrate the work efforts. That year when we went to get Lobsters we turned it into a fundraiser to help with our community cleanup. Presently , we have turned our yearly event into a fundraiser for our Sled Hockey Team "The Central Vermont Pioneers "

So here are the details……
The Fundraiser !
For just $5 you can come to the VG and purchase a ticket to win 10 of the Lobsters that I go and get on Thursday October 5th . Pick up of those Lobsters will be Friday October 6th ~ but wait there is more …………
If you so choose, we can meet at the VG to 10 am on Thursday October 5th and you will get an all expense paid trip to go with me too pick up the lobsters ! ~ and believe it or not there is still more to this amazing deal !
Before we leave I will even clean your side of my pick up truck so that you can travel in a clean comfortable ride .
The winner of this drawing will be pulled on Thursday September 29th so you will have a whole week to decide if you want the trip and the lobster, or just the lobsters
The Event
As early as 6am on Friday Oct 6th we will have a pick your own lobster event inside our beer cooler at the Village Grocery . I will have water boiling at 9:30am if you want us to cook the lobsters. Price will be a cheap market price !
If you would like to purchase a lunch which would include a full Maine lobster, cabot butter, coleslaw, and chips, we will start cooking them at 10 am till 2pm. We will have limited ability to take reservations, but you can do so until we fill up by calling 802-496-3354
