The East Montpelier Democratic Committee invites you to our reorganization meeting on September 21 at 4:30 pm outside the East Montpelier Town Office, with the option of informally socializing together afterward at Fox Market. At this meeting, we will establish the 2023-2035 East Montpelier Democratic Committee and elect leaders and delegates to the Washington County Democratic Committee.
In Vermont, town committees are the foundation of the Vermont Democratic Party organization. These committees do the organizing that allows the party to connect with voters across the state, and build social infrastructure in our towns and counties. This enables people with similar values to work together to build a better, stronger Vermont.
What can involvement in a town committee offer you? It's an opportunity to
-- connect with people who share your values as Democrats;
-- get involved in decision-making for the party at the town, county, or even state level;
-- meet all of our Democratic elected representatives and learn about what they are working on and any calls to action to support their work;
-- and get on-the-ground information about what actions will most help to elect local Democrats who will push policies for a Vermont that works for all of us. These calls to action can be far more granular what you might find in Mobilize or fundraising emails -- whether you share the word, donate, phonebank, write letters, or even help candidates navigate unfamiliar backroads when canvassing, you'll know that your time and effort is 100% targeted at campaigns that benefit from your action.
We hope to see you on September 21! If you are interested in getting involved, but cannot attend (or if you simply have questions), please reach out to me, Elise Thorsen, at enthorsen@gmail.com and we'll make it happen.
Thank you!
