Mesmerizing Waves
By Susan Davis
Island Arts Gallery, located in the conference room at the Community Bank, N.A. in South Hero, is proud to host the works of Grand Isle resident Rebecca Rowley.
Rebecca majored in art in college some 50 plus years ago. She then took a brief hiatus to raise a family and work through several careers, including healthcare sales and college administration. But after a move to the Islands, Lake Champlain re-ignited the creative spark and she began creating once again.
"Living close to Lake Champlain has inspired my sense of nature with a tendency toward combining the beauty I see with a sense of nature's flow."
She works in watercolor and acrylic and even found objects and driftwood.
"I am mesmerized by the ebb and flow of water, the fish swimming nearby, and the movement of waves that rise and splash against the shore and then rise again with strength from the wind," she noted.
Rebecca invites the public to a reception on Friday, September 8 at the Island Arts Gallery in the South Hero Community Bank from 3 to 5 p.m.
The Island Arts Gallery at the Community Bank is open to the public during normal banking hours, Mon-Thurs. 9-4; Fri. 9-5:30.
