Classicopia returns to Old South Church on Friday, September 22 at 7:30PM with a fun program highlighting the life and music of George Gershwin entitled "BY GEORGE." Pianist/Artistic Director Daniel Weiser will tell the story of America's greatest composer who was able to move seamlessly between the classical, jazz, and popular worlds of music. Though he tragically died at the age of 38, his thrilling music has easily stood the test of time. Weiser will perform piano versions of "An American in Paris" and "Rhapsody in Blue" and will be joined by Old South's Music Director, mezzo-soprano Laura Compton, on several of his most iconic songs, including "The Man I Love," "I Got Rhythm," and "Love is Here to Stay."
