Open House
The Vermont Genealogy Library will host its first open house since moving to our new space at 57 River Rd, Essex. Join us on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10 to 4 to learn more about us with tours of our facility and 30-minute demonstrations. Chat with other researchers while enjoying refreshments. There will also be hundreds of new and gently used books for sale. Free and open to the public. Bring a friend!
Classes for the Vermont Genealogy Library will start the following week. Classes will be held online via Zoom on Saturdays from 10:30 to noon. Cost is $10.00. Getting Started on Your Family History September 16, 2023 Lynn Johnson
Join us on Saturday, September 16th, and learn how to start uncovering your family history. Lynn Johnson will help you learn best practices for conducting sound research as she explains different types of records, their value, where to find them, both online and in local repositories, and how to assess each piece of information to make sure it fits. Using examples from her family research, Lynn will also outline mistakes that can derail your progress and provide tips to help you avoid them. This class will be a Zoom webinar.
