PRESENTING…THE STORY TELLER

Two internationally known storytellers are coming to the Castleton Community Center on September 15th to entertain us with their stories.
Martin Manasse has told stories that inspire, mystify, and enchant all ages since 1995. He's told stories in the UK, Croatia, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovenia and Spain. At 84 years young, he tells regularly at 5 monthly spoken word events in and near where he lives in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England; and he tells on Zoom, where his stories are heard everywhere in the world. His current focus is on sharing stories about love, transformation, cooperation, and integrity, promoting the idea that we can live with less hate, distrust or conflict.
Maja Bumberák is a storyteller based in Budapest, Hungary. A recipient of the prize "Young Master of Folk Arts", and a scholarship holder of the Hungarian Academy of Arts from 2018-2022. She researches the oral tradition of Hungarian storytelling and trains teachers, librarians, and other professionals in oral storytelling. She has been touring the world for eleven years, sharing stories and songs from Hungarian folklore and many other cultures.
