Royalton Community Walk
Lafayette Road
Sunday, September 17, 1PM

The Royalton Planning Commission is making an inventory of the town's Class 4 roads to document their condition and note their special qualities.

In order to get people's input as we plan for future uses of these roads, we are holding a series of community walks. This summer we've walked Otto Merrill, Sewall Brook, Bloss-Ballou and Peperell roads. Our next walk will be on Lafayette Road, which connects Back River Road with Royalton Hill (aka Turnpike) Road. (See map on back of poster.

This walk takes about an hour and has some wet parts, a few blow downs and underbrush. The path is sketchy, obscured in places. Sturdy shoes recommended. No dogs, please. Families and kids are welcome!

If you have known the road for many years, please come and share your stories. If you're new to town, come and learn about our most historic Class 4 road. We'll celebrate Lafayette's 1835 visit to Royalton! …or just come and enjoy a walk in good company!

We'll meet at the bandstand on the South Royalton green at 1PM and figure out the ride sharing then.
