UPCOMING COMMUNITY HEALING EVENTS
What do gun violence, racism, hate crimes, bullying, diabetes, asthma, and depression all have in common? The answer is childhood trauma. The cutting-edge research on trauma connects medical science to human justice. The only solution lies in universal love.
Kimberly Pierce is a trauma-trained medical provider who has been translating the new neuroscience of trauma and resilience into possibilities for over a decade. She will be hosting five free public wellness events in September, "Returning Home to Ourselves" as a compassionate way to educate on the most pressing issue of our time. The Vermont Kindness Project is creating momentum to become the first Trauma-Informed State of the United States.
Each event will feature a brief presentation and screening of the documentary "The Faces of ACEs", (Adverse Childhood Experiences ). The film will be followed by a demonstration of somatic, or body-based skills of resilience, ending with a discussion. Light refreshments will be provided.
