A once-a-year sale of fine handcrafted items fashioned by Indian women finding dignity through work. Eight nonprofits--all in the business of bringing freedom to women whose lives were robbed of hope through widowhood, abuse, trafficking, or abandonment--contribute items with a high level of artistry and craftsmanship.
Upcycled vintage saris hand stitched into kantha quilts and totes, scarves, jewelry, children's items, journals, bowls, soaps, aprons, Christmas ornaments, and more--all proceeds are returned to India to support their makers.
Besides providing a safe haven and training, the projects employ legal advisors and staff to handle rescue, restoration, and justice. No longer victims of poverty, gender, and caste, these women are taking charge of their lives by their own hands and skills.
Get an early start on your Christmas shopping, bring all the color and beauty of India to your family and friends, and know that your purchase is providing women with the best thing that ever happened to them.
