How to make fermented hot sauce!
When: Thursday 9/14 • 5:30-7p
Where: ShareMRV garden at Lareau Farm and Forest
Do you love the extra flavor and zest that comes from that shake or two or your favorite hot sauce on your morning eggs or in your favorite sauteed veggie dish? We do too! And we have news for you - it's super easy to make your own hot sauce; to get just the perfect combination of sweet, spicy and savory flavors that will make your mouth water! Join us for this hands on workshop and learn why fermenting creates a sauce with a more layered and nuanced taste.
Co-manager of our collective growing space, Marissa Alfiero, will walk us through the process - introducing us to a classic, garlic hot sauce recipe, as well as all the different things that can be added to make a sauce loaded with the flavors you crave.
The ShareMRV garden is located on the grounds of Lareau Farm and Forest, at 46 Lareau Road in Waitsfield. Please bring a chair or a blanket to sit on if you'd like and water. FREE; no sign-up required. (weather permitting; if inclement weather is forecast, we will move to an indoor location tbd)
