US-2 Rehabilitation Project
Richmond - Bolton US Route 2 Rehabilitation

DATE: August 31, 2023

TRAFFIC IMPACT:
-Traffic Control with one-lane of alternating travel motorists can
expect moderate traffic delays during all working hours. Motorists can
also expect to be traveling on areas of gravel surface between Willis
Farm Road and the Richmond/Williston town line.
-PLEASE slow down and follow the posted speed limits.

PROJECT UPDATE: Completed the base course of pavement between Willis
Farm Road and the I-89 interchange. Continued with slab removal and
placement of subbase material between Kenyon Road and the
Richmond/Willston town line. Adjusted sewer structures to pavement
grade within Richmond Village.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning
September 4, 2023:
Monday - No work due to the Labor Day holiday.
Tuesday through Friday - 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
-Weather permitting, continue paving the second course of pavement
between Baker Street and the I-89 interchange.
-Adjustment of the drainage structures between Lemroy Court and Baker Street.
Tuesday Through Friday - 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
-Continue roadway reconstruction between Kenyon Road to the
Richmond/Williston town line

RICHMOND BRIDGE BR#29
Replacement of Bridge no. 29 on US-2 in Richmond over I-89

TRAFFIC IMPACT:
-U.S. Route 2 - Traffic control will be present allowing for 1-lane of
alternating travel.
-Tuesday through Friday I-89 both southbound and northbound passing
lanes will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and both the
southbound and northbound right shoulders will be closed all within
the project.

PROJECT UPDATE: Tied rebar for new bridge pier in I-89 median and
set pier rebar cage into place; Installed new drainage pipes on the
west end of the project.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning
September 5, 2023:
Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
-Placement of concrete for the I-89 pier footing.
-Begin forming pier wall.
-Continue installation of new drainage on the west end of the project.
-Begin support of excavation on the east side of the bridge for
abutment #2 work.
-Install fill in front of the Richmond Fire Station to build up the ground.
