Greetings!
Please join us tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30th at 6:00pm at the Painted Lady Café and Wellness Center,15 Cherry Street. Milton on the Move will provide updates relating to many exciting new projects for Community Recreation, Developing a Downtown and Support and Recruit local businesses. We will be joined by Daniel Parkins, who has been assigned as our Technical Assistant Ambassador. Daniel has a strong background in community wealth development, grant writing, and is passionate about bringing together older adults and youth together in shared spaces.
Our Technical Assistance Pilot is a partnership between Vermont Healthy Communities and Equitable Cites. Our first assignment is to learn more about Health Equity in our community. What is Health Equity? It's honestly not what the majority thinks.. its actually a temperature check on where our community is on overall life well being.
Health equity means increasing opportunities for everyone to live the healthiest life possible, no matter who we are, where we live, or how much money we make. It's about housing, transportation, access to health care providers, access to quality childcare, feeling safe in a public space, supporting local businesses, food insecurities, recreation opportunities, youth, senior and family services, and how we preform overall as a community.
This Community meeting is a giving us the opportunity to grade our community. The Health Equity Survey will be presented, this is an opportunity for you to anonymously grade the community of Milton. What are we missing? what do you need? Where can we be better? You hold the answers.
Learn about building an Ecosystem, a sustainable future that can support a downtown core, recreation facilities and supporting businesses that thrive here.
Hummingbird Harmonics has graciously offered to start our meeting with a sound healing session. A sound healing session is deeply relaxing and creates ease in the body when bronze singing bowls, tuning forks, a crystal pyramid, and other instrumentation are played to create a cocoon of sound around you. Hummingbird Harmonics is a local business, located at The Painted Lady Café and Wellness Center.
We hope to see you all tomorrow! The Painted Lady Café has graciously offered to extend their business hours and offer their yummy menu! Cash and Cards are accepted! Check out their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/PaintedLadyCafeVT
